We publish previously unpublished, unprinted original works of art.

We look for dynamic, evocative portrayals of outdoor sporting.
Hunting, fishing—all kinds, bird hunting, big game and the like. We are not a wildlife art magazine, although we do sometimes feature wildlife art.

We receive many paintings portraying fly fishing—this is a much loved subject matter and are looking for new treatments of this familiar sport. We are looking for unusual subject matter as well.

ART ESSAYS

On occasion, we feature an artist’s work inside the magazine. If you wish to submit subject matter that is worth 4 to 6 pages, please edit your selections and send them in with an explanatory cover letter.

ETCHINGS

Gray’s Sporting Journal is interested in recent and/or classic etchings. If you collect or produce etchings, drop us a note and photocopies of suitable etchings.

PENCIL RENDERINGS

Sometimes we use pencil sketches, ink sketches or watercolors

SPECIFICATIONS

Digital images only, no smaller than 8x10 inches at 300 dpi, .TIFF format. Please include color contact sheets of the images, and send them along with the discs that contain the high-resolution images to the art director of Gray's Sporting Journal:
